Chickpeas are healthy, versatile, tasty little bites in itty bitty packages. If you are new to chickpeas, you will soon find they are super yummy...and they can be used in so many different ways! If you're already a chickpea lover, well, then you already know how fabulous they are!

This recipe roasts canned chickpeas in your air fryer. Roasting chickpeas transforms the soft little legumes into crispy little balls. I've always roasted my chickpeas in the oven, but once I tried them in the air fryer, I knew I would use that method more often than not. The air fryer cooks them super quickly and gives them an even, golden brown crispness.

The ranch seasoning is the perfect addition to these crisp chickpeas. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do!

HOW TO MAKE CHICKPEAS IN THE AIR FRYER

Roasted chickpeas can be made in the air fryer super easily! Canned chickpeas are drained, rinsed, tossed with olive oil, and then air-fried for 15 minutes at 390 degrees F. The chickpeas are shaken several times during cooking and sprinkled with ranch seasoning towards the end of the cooking time. See below for a detailed ingredients list and instructions.

ARE CHICKPEAS HEALTHY?

Chickpeas make a healthy addition to your diet. They are high in protein and fiber and can be eaten roasted as a snack, as a salad topper, blended into hummus, and more!

WHAT ARE CHICKPEAS

Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a legume. They are in the same family as lentils, peas, kidney beans, and black beans. Chickpeas grow on a plant in pods.

HOW TO STORE AIR FRYER CHICKPEAS

Store air-fried chickpeas at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days. The chickpeas will begin to soften over time.

  1. When you say Ranch, are you talking about in a jar type or in the envelope, powder kind?

    1. Try cooking a bit longer until they are crisped to your liking.

    2. Have you done this with the non canned chick peas? Every time I use canned chick peas they burn or have a soft center. Curious if the dried chick peas would do better

    3. I thought we would love these. So sorry for this feedback but they were terrible. No flavor at all. And we cook with ranch often.

  4. I just made these, they didn't get crispy but I do like them. They were popping like popcorn while in the air fryer though.

  5. Mine came out crispy and brown, I used a scant tbsp of olive oil, so the ranch dressing powder did not all stick to the chick peas. (Still good) I will use the complete amount of oil next time.

  6. I used the Ninja double basket fryer. Air fried about 8 minutes longer for crispier crunch. Turned out ok. But I'm not a chick pea fan to begin with. Would I make again. Probably not. But recipe was easy to follow.
