I am a big fan of pinwheels. Pinwheels meaning the food variety, not the kid's toy variety. Not that I have anything against the fun little spinny toys, right now I'm just referring to yummy tortilla twirls like in this recipe!
Pinwheels are the best because they are super versatile and SO easy to make.
The assembly is simple. Combine a few tasty ingredients and spread them onto a tortilla. Roll up the tortilla, slice, and enjoy! No fuss, no cook, and totally yummy!
HOW TO MAKE SALAMI TORTILLA PINWHEELS
To make salami pinwheels, combine whipped cream cheese, chopped salami, and dill pickle relish. Spread the mixture onto a tortilla, roll up tightly, then slice into thin slices.
WHAT SIZE TORTILLA SHOULD I USE FOR PINWHEELS?
You can use several different size tortillas for pinwheels. For a thicker cream cheese filling, use a smaller fajita size tortilla. For a thinner filling and more tortilla taste, use a burrito size tortilla. I do not recommend the taco size tortillas because they are generally too small to roll up into pinwheels.
WHAT KIND OF SALAMI SHOULD I USE?
For salami pinwheels, you can use either Genoa salami or hard salami. I suggest getting your salami from the deli counter at the grocery store. Ask for it thinly sliced and it will be perfect for pinwheels!
CAN SALAMI PINWHEELS BE MADE IN ADVANCE?
Yes! Salami pinwheels can be made a day in advance. For the best freshness when making ahead, roll, wrap, and store in the refrigerator in log form. Slice just before serving.
