You only need three ingredients to make this cool, creamy, spicy Buffalo Ranch Chip Dip! Once you start dipping, you won't be able to stop!
I have big news, friends. BIG. There has been a shift in our household. A revelation of sorts. If you know my family, you know that the unraveling events over the last week is unprecedented.
You see, my husband and I shared an experience the other day that I honestly never thought would happen. And then, it happened again. And again and again. Four times in one week! I mean, I never imagined it happening at all, let alone FOUR TIMES. We're going to do it again tomorrow, too. Seriously, I'm dying over this, guys. Want to know the best part? It keeps getting better and better!
Y'all...the Tarala family has been watching sports!
I know, I know. Crazy, right? I've talked about time and time again in past posts. We are simply not a sports family. We don't play, we don't watch, and, frankly, we just don't care.
Until now.
In the past, we just never really got into sports. I was a cheerleader in high school and my husband has a mom who frequently had sports on the television while he was growing up, so we know the basics of football, baseball, and basketball. Neither of us ever played any sports, though, and we never developed a passion for any teams or anything.
I can honestly say we've never felt like we were missing anything. All of the hype just didn't click with us.
So, how did this mental shift to becoming game-watching fools happen?
Well, my husband and I have these new friends who are super cool and just happen to be big Cubs fans. My husband is from Chicago and it turns out the Cubs just happen to be one of the teams his Mom watched religiously growing up. The more we talked about our new friends and their beloved Cubs, the more I realized my husband is a closet Cubs fan himself!
Eleven years of marriage thinking my honey is anti-sports, and here he was just anti-everything but the Cubs. Who knew? I don't even think he knew.
So, you know what I did? I turned on a Cubs game one night. And we started watching. There was an energy in the air that was...exciting. We watched, we cheered, we booed, and we hooted and hollered. And you know what? We had fun.
I never in a million years thought there would be sports on our television and I'm still kind of in shock over the whole thing. I don't see much of anything besides the Cubs making an appearance on our t.v. any time in the near future, but I do see lots of baseball-watching get-togethers with our new friends happening! I guess I kind of owe them for uncovering that Cubs fan that was hiding deep inside my husband!
Naturally, while we're watching the Cubs (hopefully) kick some ass, we'll have good things to munch on like this delish Buffalo Ranch Chip Dip. It's cool, creamy, spicy, and perfect for watching the game! Let's go, Cubbies!
Buffalo Ranch Chip Dip
Yield: 2 cups
Ingredients
Instructions
Notes
Yield: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 16 ounces sour cream or full-fat plain greek yogurt
- 1 package ranch dressing mix
- 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Serve with chips for dipping.
Notes
- I always use Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce when a recipe calls for buffalo sauce.
- This recipe can easily be halved if you need less dip.
- This would also be good with fresh veggies dipping, but I think it goes best with plain old potato chips.
