I go through phases of favorite snacks. For a while there it was hummus all day, erry day.
Then, I was on a smoothie kick. I was drinking Banana Hemp Protein Smoothies like they were going out of style. Smoothies are so yummy, so filling, and you can pack them full of all kinds of good-for-you ingredients. Love them.
But eventually, I got tired of smoothies, so I switched to snacking on tortilla chips dipped in plain greek yogurt and salsa mixed together with a sprinkle of kosher salt on top.
That's when my recent salsa kick started.
My grocery store was out of my favorite full-fat greek yogurt that I always buy for my salsa yogurt dip, so I had to improvise. I decided to breathe life into my old standby hummus and blend it up with some spicy salsa! And to make it extra special, I went all out with jalapenos, cilantro, and a whole gorgeous avocado.
The result was so, so good and I couldn't stop dipping! This recent mashup of my faves had earned a permanent spot in my recipe box and I'll be adding it to my hummus recipe rotation!
