I'm one of those people that like to mix up lots of ingredients to get a range of flavors and textures in a dish. There's got to be a little salty, a little sweet, some crunch, and a little bit of zing.
It's like an art really. That one perfect bite.
I had an idea to make a big bowl full of some of my favorite ingredients, kind of like a chopped salad, that would deliver everything I desire in my perfect bite.
I'm happy to say that, with the help of Wish-Bone® Italian Dressing and Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken, this big, gorgeous salad bowl totally delivers that perfect bite that I love so dearly. It's a mash-up of so many flavors that come together in one family-sized, beautiful bowl.
I am always looking for ways to make my salads as big, bold, and chock-full of good-for-me foods as I can. Making a main dish salad for dinner is a great way for me to save time in the kitchen on busy weeknights, however in order to serve a main dish salad to my man, it has to be hearty, satisfying, and packed with protein.
That's where the Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken comes in. It's a simple and convenient way to add delicious and healthy protein to our meals and the perfect way to make my salad husband-worthy. The chicken is fully cooked and can easily be heated added to the salad or any number of other main dish meals.
I made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up the Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Chicken and my fave Wish-Bone® Italian Dressing and I was well on my way to my perfect bite.
I used Wish-Bone® Italian Dressing to give my salad the perfect robust, full-flavored zing that I love. I also tossed by brussels sprouts leaves in the dressing to give them an extra zesty boost before I popped them in the oven to get nice and roasty.
Yup, I said brussels sprouts leaves. No plain old greens in this salad.
This recipe uses brussels sprouts leaves that are cooked until the edges are browned and crisp. They make this salad extra special. Crispy brussels sprouts forever.
I got the salty from some crumbly feta, some crunch from chopped pecans, and a bit of sweet from diced apples and dried cranberries. A little red onion thrown into the mix paired just right with the other flavors I had going on. I finished it all with a drizzle of the Wish-Bone® Italian Dressing.
I tell you, I could not stop eating bite after glorious bite. Everything came together in perfect harmony and I couldn't have been happier!
This salad really turned out to be everything I hoped that it would be. It was an easy and delicious meal solution in a single bowl that met all of my needs – time, taste and nutrition.
