Life with a newborn means one thing when it comes to menu planning around here: quick and easy is what's for dinner most nights!
That is exactly what this meal is and exactly what this new momma was looking for. Bubble Pizza takes no time to throw together (yes, even if you use the homemade pizza sauce - it takes just 15 minutes to make!) and the whole thing comes together in a quick 25 minutes. Seeing as I'm still working on ironing out the kinks in our daily household schedule with the little guy in the mix, a 25-minute meal was looking pretty good the other night when I realized it was 7:00 pm and (gasp) I still hadn't started dinner.
As for the name Bubble Pizza, my 3-year old was a little disappointed that there was no actual bubble blowing involved. But, the biscuits do bubble up around the sauce and the toppings when you bake it...get it? Bubble Pizza!
It's the perfect quick, easy and family-pleasing weeknight meal!
Bubble Pizza
Ingredients
Instructions
Notes
Ingredients
- 1 can of biscuits (I used Pillsbury Grands Homestyle)
- 4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
- pizza sauce (my recipe!), or use one 15 oz can/jar
- pepperoni, diced or sliced (use as much as you like!), optional
- 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
- dried oregano, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Cut each biscuit into quarters. Place the biscuit pieces in a greased 8 x 8 glass baking dish.
- Top with the sauce and the pepperoni.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes. Sprinkle with oregano and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes

- Switch up the toppings to include whatever you like on your pizza!
The biscuits didn't get done I will bake them alone for a bit before adding the ingredients!
ReplyDeleteBeen doing this since my oldest daughter was little. She's now in her 40's. Only thing I did differently is I didn't cut up the biscuts, I kind of flattened them and then put the sauce and cheese over them. Same results.
DeleteI pre-baked the biscuits for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Added all of the ingredients then baked for about 20 more minutes. And it turned out absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteYou don't "pre-bake" biscuits. There is no such thing. You BAKED them for 10 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients. Then baked them for 20 more minutes. Or did you POST-bake them after you PRE-baked them?
DeleteAlso, there is no such thing as "pre-heated". An oven has two states: Heated or Unheated. There is no "pre" heat.
Wow, pretentious much? Samantha Croft was being helpful, who cares about a few slight grammar (non)issues? You on the other hand are kind of a douche, and while you can fix grammar mistakes douche-baggery is much harder to 'fix'. Good luck with that.
Delete....also this recipe is really good with Alfredo sauce, carmelized onions, bacon, grilled chicken, and mushrooms if you're feeling fancy.

DeleteYou are an idiot.

Bill
There is such a thing as "pre-heating". You don't turn the oven on and throw the food right in. You turn it on and let it heat up to the required temperature...heating it first, or PRE HEATING it, then put the food. in.
DeleteAnd yes, no one needs your criticism when they are trying to be helpful.
And,Anonymous...language, huh?
@TheKillingWords
Deletewhat a stupid thing to be a bitch over lmfao. Get over yourself, truly.
I agree with the first comment, if you don't bake the biscuits alone first, they will not cook. I was pretty disappointed with this recipe, overall. Maybe it's just me, but the biscuits did not taste great as a crust.
ReplyDeleteLoved this and the comments... I also pre baked biscuits for 10 minutes... turned out great!!
ReplyDeleteI did not prebake and thought it turned out great. The family loved it including my 5yr old daughter who is very picky. Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI just made this today for lunch. My 8 year old was not a fan, and that caused my 2 year old to not want any, however, I liked it. I baked the biscuits @ 400 for 10 minutes, put a thin layer of cheese and then sauce, baked for another 10 minutes, then finally added about 2 cups of shredded mozzarella and baked another 10 minutes. It was easy and tasty.
ReplyDeleteI made this tonight for dinner and it was a hit! Instead of using shredded cheese, I used provolone slices. I didn't prebake my biscuits and I thought they turned out perfect, but then again, I like my tough a little soft.
ReplyDeleteWe loved this tonight! thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI made this with wheat biscuits, ragu cheese sauce pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms and pineapples. My kids LOVED it! I think I could have made this in a 13"x9" pan instead of a 8"x8". There was a lot of crust! I didn't precook the biscuits and even the wheat ones managed to cook thoroughly under all of the toppings for only 20 minutes. I will try again.
ReplyDeleteKids and hubby loved it! Great fast and easy lunch after church! Now time for a nap ;)!
ReplyDeleteWe had a blast making this! Thank you so much!

I'm glad you liked it. :) Great post and I love your blog! I love cooking with my daughter and making memories!
DeleteSo glad I found this recipe! I did not prebake biscuits, and it turned out fine. My husband accidentally bought the Grands Flaky Honey Butter Biscuits and that tasted great! Thank You for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! Absolutely loved it. I cut my biscuit pieces smaller and I did not prebake them. The pizza sauce is amazing. I will definitely make it again. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI mad this tonight but with a thin layer of garlic butter over the biscuit turned out great
ReplyDeleteWow, another option and it sounds really great, Whenever we order pizza we always order the garlic bread. I would make this for a snack or to have with the pizza. Thanks for sharing,
DeleteI can't believe that anyone had a problem with this. I just made this tonight and it turned out fantastic. My 13 year old son who would live on pizza if I let him loved it. He is even taking the leftovers for his school lunch. I even tried your pizza sauce, FABULOUS! Don't think we will be using store bought again. I had that cooking while I was getting the pizza stuff together and it was all done in about 40 minutes. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the sauce, too!
DeleteI have 3 grandkids that I am raising now is a very picky eaters but this pizza with the homemade sauce was a hit they ate it all and wants it every fri now thank you. Even thou I make everything from scratch they want this more than anything I have made
ReplyDeleteMade it tonight..turned out very good..next time I'm gonna cook it for 30 minutes instead of 20..biscuits didn't get done all the way on just 20 minutes..but very yummy over all
ReplyDeleteI made this last night and I used the buttery biscuits and sprinkled with garlic salt also I used fresh deli pepperonis mushrooms and cheddar cheese it was fantastic! My husband and I ate up all the leftover for lunch. Nom nom nom ❤️👍
ReplyDeleteI'm making this tonight but will be careful with the crust. I plan on putting more stuff on it though. I can't wait, thanks! I just started following you. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first comment, if you don't bake the biscuits alone first, they will not cook. I was pretty disappointed with this recipe, overall. Maybe it's just me, but the biscuits did not taste great as a crust.
ReplyDeleteCould you stack two biscuit cans on each other? would it still cook through?
ReplyDeleteThe biscuit crust is pretty thick as is, so I think that it would not cook through if you used two cans in a 8x8 pan. Maybe if you tried 2 cans in a 9x13 it would work.
DeleteMine (2 cans of biscuits in a 9x13 pan) have been in 35 mins on 400 and still raw in the middle :( will it cook without prebake? Im worried I just wasted all this food!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope not! Did it turn out okay? I've only done it in and 8 x 8, so I'm really just not sure...
DeleteI did a double batch(9 x 13 pan) and mine was a little doughy in the center. next time I plan on baking the biscuits for 10 minutes before adding the sauce and the toppings as others have said
ReplyDeletevery nice post
