Do you ever make a recipe at home and you are so excited about it that you kick yourself for never making it before?  Y'all, this chocolate sauce is one of those recipes.  Why, oh why, have I never made this delicious concoction before?

Now, let's be clear, chocolate sauce is nothing new.  I mean, we all grew up with a bottle of Hershey's sauce in our hands, squeezing that dark brown goodness into our glass of milk until it is as chocolaty as possible or until mom told us that was enough.

But, this is no Hershey's sauce.  Not by far.  This is a deliciously rich, velvety, melted chocolate that is super dreamy.  And you can make it at home in just minutes.  Just minutes!!!  It's just chocolate and cream with a little knob of butter thrown into the mix.  Seriously, it doesn't get any easier than that, am I right?

It must be noted that I recommend using good-quality chocolate.  The better the chocolate, the better the sauce.  Buy the good chocolate that comes in a bar.  Trust me, you won't be disappointed.  I used 70% cocoa chocolate because I like my chocolate a little less sweet than milk chocolate.  It doesn't matter if you use dark or milk chocolate, though.  Either will be great!

You'll want to pour this luscious sauce into your milk, on your ice cream, and basically all over everything you eat.  Never enough chocolate! It's amazing on its own or paired with this gorgeous homemade strawberry syrup. A match made in heaven!

My friends in my monthly cooking club all wrote about chocolate this month, too.  And just in time for Valentine's Day! It's like we planned it that way or something. (wink, wink) Check out all of their chocolate-filled recipes below!
