There are so many reasons why this post is all me.
First, I need make-ahead recipes like these to keep my healthy eating on track. I can sometimes be a little lazy when it comes to making healthy choices.
I really have the best of intentions, I swear I do, but when it comes right down to it, I'm going to grab the potato chips before I take the time to make a salad or a yogurt parfait.
Eh, at least I'm honest. My hips, however, could care less about my honest intentions.
Make-ahead mason jar recipes are lifesavers for me, though! I can just grab one and go, which leaves me no time to convince myself that just a few chips won't hurt.
But it always hurts. Damn those delicious calories.
When you're me, a few chips always turns out to be waaaaay more than the suggested serving size. When it comes to potato chips, my self-control takes a nose dive out the window.
Lately, though, I've been eyeing all of the fresh berries that have been on sale. Serving sizes don't count when you're eating fresh fruit, right? Not in my book. I'll eat fresh fruit all day long and not feel even a little bit guilty about it.
Aren't fresh berries gorgeous? Mouthwatering, if I do say so myself.
Which brings me to the next reason why this post is perfect for me: because I adore Publix! That's where you can buy the Liberte® Mediterranee yogurt and all kinds of fresh berries and fruit for your parfaits.
I shop at Publix because, as they say, Publix makes shopping a pleasure. And it really is a pleasure when I shop there! Not only because of the always friendly staff and the stellar grocery selection but because I always find awesome deals.
I can get lost in my shopping pleasure for hours when I go to Publix.
No joke, hours.
I love grocery shopping. It's my happy place.
Weird, I know, but hey, that's me! They folks at my store are super nice to couponers, too, which is important to couponers like me!
Soooooo, now on to the main event! Let me tell you a little more about these awesome parfaits! I made 5 different luscious recipes!
I went to the store to get my Liberte® Mediterranee yogurt and found tons of flavors that all sounded delish. The whole milk and cream Liberte selects creates an indulgently silky texture.
The live, active cultures add a layer of deep flavor that is punctuated with bold, real fruit. They don't use added gelatin, sugar substitutes, or preservatives. Sounds good to me!
Here are the flavors they offer:
- New Méditerranée Cappuccino
- New Méditerranée Caramel
- Méditerranée Blackberry
- Méditerranée Coconut
- Méditerranée French Vanilla
- Méditerranée Lemon
- Méditerranée Strawberry
As usual, I was ridiculously bad at making a decision, so I couldn't pick just one flavor to try...so I got them all! Well, except for the Cappuccino and French Vanilla, which they were out of.
My head was swirling with parfait recipe ideas and I finally decided on the following five. They are all decadently flavorful and have layers of healthy stir-ins that make them the perfect way to start your day.
Make-Ahead Mason Jar Breakfast Parfaits
Ingredients
Instructions
Ingredients
- 1 (6 ounce) container Liberté® Méditerranée yogurt
- 1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal
- 1/2 -1 cup add-ins (fresh fruit, granola, coconut, nuts, etc.)
Instructions
- Stir together one container of yogurt with the oatmeal. Layer the yogurt and desired add-ins in wide mouth pint jars. Store in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
Notes
- If you're making several different varieties, I would suggest eating the ones with granola first and anything with berries after that.
- These can be taken out of the refrigerator for up to one hour before eating. They really are perfect for grabbing one on your way out the door in the early morning and then enjoying once you get to work or school!
